A Fellowship of Artisans
Welcome to 2021! May this year be a better year for everyone!
Since the pandemic has many things closed and we are sheltering in place as much as possible I’ve taken this time to do a deeper dive on increasing and refining my skills. Thanks to all classes being online I am to take fashion studies courses with intuitions and instructors I never would have had the chance to in 2018. Again, thanks to my local American Sewing Guild (ASG) chapter for mentioning programs at schools I was previously unaware of.
This has renewed a commitment to maintain this website and start a blog chronicling my trials and tribulations of being an online student at three community colleges focusing on Fashion Studies. This has been a silver lining of the “lock-down” caused by Coronavirus – taking Fashion Studies classes online! My work schedule has not allowed for in-person classes and I could not learn from amazing instructors at my local college. Now that all courses are on-line I have been able to take the classes that meet my interests and will improve my skills. As a self-taught sewer, the opportunities for formal education were few. I relish the opportunity to learn the current “right way” to do things. And, I continue to remain grateful to the experts who provided tips and tricks along the way.
Come back for some free tutorials some of the projects from previous classes I taught in 2018-2020 get posted. I will be editing and posting them as time allows this semester.
